Nine horses are set to line up for tomorrow’s Investec Derby at Epsom and it is estimated that around £20million will be wagered on the race across the industry.
The majority of bets will be placed on 2000 Guineas winner Camelot and
Betfred have announced that if red-hot favourite wins the race by four or more lengths, then they will double his odds for anyone who places a bet at the starting price.
“Everyone keeps telling me that Camelot will be a runaway winner of this year’s Derby but from what I’ve seen on the track so far, I’m not so sure,” Betfred chairman Fred Done explained to us.
“I’m willing to put my money where my mouth is though. If Camelot wins the Derby by four lengths or more, I’m going to double the price for any punter who places a bet at SP. So if Camelot hoses up, I’ll double your lot!”
Bonfire is the 9/2 second-favourite with Betfred to land the Derby whilst O’Brien’s other runner, Astrology, is next in the market at 7/1. Bonfire is the 7/4 favourite in the ‘betting without Camelot’ market whilst it’s an 8/15 shot that the Derby goes to an Irish-trained winner.

‘Double Your Lot’ - If Camelot wins the Investec Derby by four or more lengths, then Betfred will double the official starting price on all bets up to £1000.
