The final declarations and full field for the 2012 Investec Derby have been announced and William Hill have updated their full Epsom betting.
Ante-post favourite Camelot is a rock solid 4-7 favourite with
William Hill for the Investec Derby, and Aidan O’Brien is 4-11 to saddle his first Derby winner since 2002, following confirmation of the nine runner field for the Epsom classic.
William Hill make Camelot a 7-4 chance to win the Derby by two lengths or more and just 5-2 to complete the Triple Crown.
In addition, the firm have posted a special market based on Aidan O’Brien training the winners of all three Epsom Group Ones, making the master of Ballydoyle 4-1 to land a famous treble.
In the main Derby betting, there has been market interest in a couple of outsiders with money being seen for Mickdaam (25-1 from 33-1) and Cavaleiro (40-1 from 66-1).
The latter provides Hayley Turner with her first Investec Derby ride, and William Hill make her a 10-1 shot to make the frame in the nine runner race on Saturday.
William Hill spokesman Richard Thomas explained: “With the Guineas winner Camelot looking to have outstanding credentials in the Derby, he will start a big odds on favourite to provide Ballydoyle with a first Derby success since 2002. Such is the domination of Aidan O’Brien runners in the major races, he is a 4-1 chance to win the Oaks, Coronation Cup and Derby.”
With Camelot dominating the Derby main market, William Hill also offer betting ‘without Camelot’ – 6-4 Bonfire, 10-3 Astrology, 4-1 Main Sequence, 6-1 Thought Worthy, 14-1 Mickdaam, 16-1 Rugged Cross, 20-1 Cavaleiro, 40-1 Minimise Risk
