Queen’s Stand

The Queen's Stand is the most exclusive area at Epsom. Situated opposite the winning post, it has the best views and facilities on the course. It has bars, cold snacks, a champagne and seafood bar, private entertaining suites and full Tote betting facilities. Queen's Stand racegoers have access to the Paddock and Winner's Circle.

The Blue Riband Restaurant is situated on the 1st floor of the Queen’s Stand and is a wonderfulplace to spend the day. A private balcony overlooks the parade ring and a shared public balcony gives views of the racecourse and the winner’s circle. The Blue Riband is at the very heart of the Queen’s Stand and is a highly prized location.

Duchess’s Stand

Epsom's new Duchess's Stand is now open. Its large ground floor Oaks Hall is the main facility for racegoers, with Tote units and a variety of catering outlets.

There are bars, stands, music and entertainment in the Derby Village on both days of The Derby Festival.

The Duchess’s Stand is located next to the Queen's Stand and access to the Parade Ring and the Rails Bookmakers are close to hand. It offers great views over the course and The Downs, and a relaxed atmosphere for the racegoer.

You can reserve a seat overlooking the racecourse which is for your exclusive use during the day at an additional cost to your entrance.

Tattenham Straight

The Tattenham Straight was new in 2007 and was such a success that its capacities have been increased. It's a pedestrian open air, grass area, with live music and a variety of food and drinks outlets. With access to the rails and bookmakers, it also has sight of a big screen.

BBQs are strictly forbidden in this area, due to the enclosure's proximity to the track, but you can bring your own picnic into this area.

It is located next to the Duchess’s Stand on the outside of the course, running the length of the finishing straight up to Tattenham Corner.

Tattenham Picnic Area

The Tattenham Picnic Area offers racegoers a delicious picnic in a premium area next to the Duchess’s Stand. With picnic tables on a spacious lawn and access to bars and bookmakers in the Tattenham Straight, it's a great place to spend the afternoon.

Each picnic package contains a four course picnic, a bottle of wine and a bottle of water and includes admission to the Tattenham Picnic Area for 2 people.

Lonsdale Enclosure

This is the most sought after location for buses. It is an open air grass area opposite the Queen's Stand (on the inside of the course) near the winning post. On Derby Day only open-topped double-decker buses are admitted, but on Ladies Day it can accommodate either single or double deckers. The Lonsdale always sells out very quickly - so it's essential to book early to guarantee a place.

You can enter as a pedestrian and facilities include access to toilets, bookmakers and bars.

Walton

Situated next to the Lonsdale Enclosure and the rails, the Walton offers the chance to be near the racing action at a value for money price. Both single and double decker vehicles can park in the Walton. BBQs are strictly forbidden in this area, due to the enclosure's proximity to the track.

Upper Tattenham

This area stretches from the Tattenham Straight pedestrian area down to the famous Tattenham Corner. Both single and double decker coaches can park in this facility on both days of The Derby Festival and it has a great atmosphere. It's a popular area for both buses and groups who love to picnic.

The Hill

The Hill is the famous downland area at the centre of the Epsom Downs course. It's the heart of the party as many people flock to experience the market and funfair. It features all the facilities you need to enjoy the day, with toilets, bookmakers, food and bars all close to hand.

It's free for pedestrians to walk onto The Hill.

Car Parking

There is plenty of parking available at Epsom Downs Racecourse and it's not necessary to book it in advance. Just follow the blue signs to the car park when you arrive at the course.

Dress Codes

Queen’s Stand: On Derby Day gentlemen must wear either black or grey Morning Dress with a top hat, or Service Dress. Ladies are asked to wear formal day dress or a trouser suit with a hat. On Ladies Day, gentlemen are asked to wear a jacket, collar and tie. Ladies do not have to wear a hat but the majority do. Jeans, sports shorts, denim or trainers are not acceptable.

Duchess’s Stand: The dress code is officially smart casual. Smart denim is acceptable, but trainers, sportswear, sleeveless vests and bare tops are not. Many people like to dress up for Derby Day. In the Grandstand hospitality areas, gentlemen are asked to wear a jacket, collar and tie. Ladies do not have to wear a hat but the majority do.
